CHOICES - Early Intervention domestic abuse awareness programme
Choices is an early intervention domestic abuse awareness programme designed for offenders to support them in making better choices and prevent their abuse escalating.
Our aim is to support people to make better choices in an intimate relationship. We are educating offenders on "What is domestic abuse" the effects of their behaviour on their partners, children and themselves.
Offenders are supported to examine what their intentions, actions and beliefs are and how to make better choices.
"Choices" takes place over 10 hours. Delivery is split between two 5 hour workshops. Offenders must complete both workshops.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT SELF REFERRALS ONTO THIS PROGRAMME

Eligibility for the early intervention Domestic Abuse awareness project, CHOICES.

Offenders: Must be adult males, 18 and over

Offences: Should include minor assaults (common assault and battery), criminal damage, harassment, threatening behaviour, and domestic theft.

Convictions/Cautions: No convictions or cautions for domestic abuse in the last two years, though past minor convictions may be accepted.

Risk Assessment: A DASH risk assessment must show a standard or medium risk to the victim.

The victim will be contacted and complete a DASH and offered support.

Accept responsibility for their actions.

Commit to attend the two workshops.
